Our last days . . .

We were pretty lucky our last week in Idaho to stay with Fam. and not have to work. We spent alot of QT with family and had so much fun. Here is some of our adventures:
Krew on Gama's lap watching us light off fireworks.

Before we left we got to go see cars 2 the movie at Edwards with Mitch, Jack, Gama, Abi, Ash, and Meg. Krew thought it was so cool. BIg building with mirrors on the ceiling, candy and a good movie! What else could a guy want?

Krew ended up falling asleep on Meg's lap.

The Sunday before we left the ENTIRE Messick Family had a BBQ at Doug's cousin's house. They had a cool little loader thing in their backyard that Krew absolutly LOVED! Doug really wants to make one for Krew in our backyard.

I spent an entire day cleaning our old house for Meg and Josh to move into. I wanted it to be really clean for them plus I would be so embarased to leave a messy house behind me. Nobody likes to clean up someone else's mess! I was having contractions pretty regular and my mom was worried about me being around cleaning chemicals fumes so she offered to help me clean. How nice. She will probably be mad at me for putting this pic. on but I want to remember the story behind it so forgive me mom. When she got the the house I had already been there and she asked me "what can I do?" Without thinking I told her that Krew's room was pretty much clean the window seals and base boards just needed to be wiped off, and sent her off to do that. I kept hearing her sniff sniff which is not unusual cause she has allergies but the sniffing got quite frequent and heavy so I went in to see if she needed some medicine or something. This is what I found: My mom bawling her eyes out. What a mistake to have her clean Krew's room! :) I love you mom and Krew misses you so much! Since we've left I've found out that my mom pretty much stole one of Krew's blankets for her to keep because she says it smells just like Krew. lol! Silly Gama! We love you so much!

Krew was such a trooper on our drive across the country. We went 2300 miles in 3 days! I can't say the same for me. I will always remember driving away from my parents house. I bawled for a good 2 hrs. straight and then off and on the entire rest of the trip. Krew would get so worried about me when he would see me crying. He would say things like "Doug, whats wrong with mommy?" or "Its ok mommy" Finally Doug taught him to just say "I love you Mommy" when I was crying. I'm alot better now. Maybe only once a day do I get really homesick but it helps when I get a hug from my little boy and he says "I love you mommy!" What really gets me is when Krew says "Where is Mitch? Where is Jack?" "I want gamma and papa" Or when he talks to them on the phone and cries and cries after we hang up. He misses everyone. But I know he's having fun here. There are so many little boys and girls his age that we get to play with periodically throughout the week. This move will be good for the both of us.

On our way out to Buffalo we were listening to Doug's Ipod and Krew was asleep. Doug randomly said I think this is my favorite song. So I started it over and turned it up so i could hear the lyrics. Its called "Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice. Of course it made me cry. Everything makes me cry lately. Here are the lyrics.

"Love Like Crazy"

They called them crazy when they started out
Said, "Seventeen's too young to know what loves about"
They've been together fifty-eight years now
That's crazy

He brought home sixty-seven bucks a week
Bought a little 2 bedroom house on Maple Street
Where she blessed him with six more mouths to feed
Now that's crazy

Just ask him how he did it
He'll say, "Pull up a seat
It'll only take a minute
To tell you everything"

Be a best friend, tell the truth
And overuse "I love you"
Go to work, do your best
Don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when he quit his job
Said them home computers, boy, they'll never take off
Well, he sold his one man shop to Microsoft
And they paid like crazy

Just ask him how he made it
He'll tell you faith and sweat
And the heart of a faithful woman
Who never let him forget

Be a best friend, tell the truth
And overuse "I love you"
Go to work, do your best
Don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

Always treat your woman like a lady
Never get to old to call her baby
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when they started out
They've been together fifty-eight years now
Ain't that crazy?

I had quite an emotional trip out to Buffalo and I'm going to miss all my family, Doug's family, and our friends so much. But, I'm so glad that I have Dougy at my side. I look up to him so much and I know that when we're faced with challenges in these upcoming years I can trust Doug to always make the right decision. I feel so lucky to have him and my little Krewzer and pretty soon my new little guy. All we can do is our best just like the song says. I know we'll make it cause we have eachother.

We finally made it out to Buffalo! Our new home sweet home. More pics to come soon!

Change is tough--even good changes are tough. You guys will have an opportunity to grow close as a little family. Buffalo will probably one day hold a special place in your heart because of the of the great and difficult moments. Plus, we are so blessed to have so many ways to communicate. You guys are 2300 miles away, but Krew can call his grandma and tell her his latest news with only a push of a button. Your new home looks like a good place to make some unforgettable memories.

Awww....your post made me cry. I remember going through the same thing when we moved to Kansas. It is hard, but growth and blessings will come. Your home is really cute!

Hi friend! Reading your post about the move made all the memories come back from when we did it 3 years ago. It does get easier with time & soon enough you'll be calling Buffalo home. :) I'm so glad to have finally met you & that you live so close. It is so fun that we will have our boys so close in ages. :)
