NYC (part one)

We went to NYC. Kidless. Heaven. Me and my good friend Denyse were talking one day about how we both wanted to make the trip to the city before we leave and so we decided that we would kid swap and go with our hubbys! We had a great time. We were there for 3 days and 2 nights total so I jam packed out schedule full of stuff to see and do. Here are a few things that we did:
WALL STREET
It was cool to see the stock exchange! You always see it in the news/movies but it was way cool to see in person.

THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE

After we walked across the bridge we at at this awesome little pizza restaurant on the brooklyn side of the bridge. It was a fun atmosphere and experience. I was a little embarrassed tho when my husband kept saying "This is just as good as little ceasars!" I don't know if my husband fully appreciated the full authentic Italian pizza :)

GROUND ZERO

This was such a solemn experience. Almost eerie. Its two big holes in the ground where the towers used to stand. Around the edge is inscribed all of the names of the people that died on 9/11. I was really sad to see a few of these:

We were there right after hurricane Sandy and seeing the destruction from that and then coming to this place was all just very sad. This tree is called the survivor tree. It was the only thing that was living after they cleared away the rubble.

TODAY SHOW

Anyway, on to happier things. For me, this was the funnest thing we did. Doug wasn't so sure about it to begin with. We had been out late the night before and I had heard that you had to get there pretty early to be on TV so I got out of bed early and left the hotel (by myself) I was going to be on national TV come late nights or tired eyes! Doug called me while I was walking there (don't be to scared it was only a couple blocks and I got myself a nice hot chocolate on the way there) and said that he would be a few mins behind me. By the time he got there I was like in the middle of the crowd. A large group left after Matt came out thinking that there wasn't going to be anything else to see and then. . . . FLO RIDA came and did a little concert. We were really close to the front. Probably 4 people back.  It was so fun! We weren't really huge fans of Flo before but after hearing him live you better believe we are now!

Did I mention that the fierce 5 came as well?

"Girl I heard you were a wild one . . ."
In other news: I'm considering chopping one side of my hair off and dying it pink! What do ya think? lol JUST KIDDING!

NYC part 2

CENTRAL PARK
We rented bikes for a couple hours and rode around Central Park. It was actually sunny and really nice out for Nov! Perfect for a bike ride!
There was so many pretty statues, and nice sights throughout the park this is just one of the shots I got of the City from the Park. I thought it was cool.

  TOP OF THE ROCK
One night we went and did a really fun thing called "top of the rock." You just get to go to the top of a really high building in Rockefeller Center. Its an AMAZING view of the city! It took my breath away and made me feel really small.
Hands free! No kids! Got to take a snap shot with the hubs!

  everything else . . .
Here is the Empire state building from afar. Since we did "top of the rock" we opted to not pay 40.00 each to go to the top of the empire state building:)
Times square in the early morning while waiting in line to get tickets to see a show!
I went to the disney store there and wanted to buy almost everything in the store for Krew. He would have died if he was with me.
I also got to meet Brody's role model at times square one night. I showed Krew this pic and he thought it was pretty neat! Yes, I have met Mickey Mouse!

The aftermath . . .

I can't express enough how nice it was to have this time with Doug! I love my kids. I really do. Love them so much. But I decided every once in 5 years of CRAZY life me and Doug need a trip together. It helped us remember that we still have a crush on one another and want to do EVERYTHING together. BEST WEEKEND! I was so grateful that I have good friends like Denyse in Buffalo that I feel completely comfortable leaving my kids with for a couple nights. Honestly my kids probably thought that they were on a vacation as well. So . . . When Denyse and her hubs went to NYC I was so happy to take their kids because we had the best time ever and I knew that they would have a great time as well. Here is a little of what we did:
What is it about kids in the tub together that I think is so cute? Maybe its because I have lots of pics with my sisters in the tub from when I was little. Love it.
Brody is OBSESSED with kissing Kinsley. She is adorable so I just let him do it. I hope they fall in love and get married so me and Denyse can be like. . . sisters?
We have a babysitting swap that we do every friday night and I thought it would be a good idea since we would already have some extras to have swap at our house this weekend. WHEW! This will definitely go down as one of Doug's favorite nights! I had a craft planned so that ate up alot of time and the kids loved it. by the end Doug was plum tuckered out!
So glad we got a chance to make this fun trip! It was a blast!

Whats up with us?

I haven't posted in a while and with my kids changing so quick I just wanted to blog about a couple fun things that they have been doing. Brody has turned into quite the character. I used to think when he was a baby that he would be my nice, sweet little boy. . .and then he grew up . . . MONSTER! Don't get me wrong he is still sweet and nice and he's my little cuddler when he's tired, but he is BUSAY! I chase him everywhere. Church is a joke. Only 6 more weeks until he goes to nursery. (but who's counting/) He destroys everything. And then he laughs. (And I usually laugh to cause I just think that he is so dang cute.) Look at that face. He thinks he is hilarious! He is on a potty kick right now. No we are not potty training but he has it in his head that whenever Krew goes to the potty that he needs to as well so he'll run to the toilet and pull up his shirt like Krew does. Once I even pulled down his diaper to see if he would really pee and he did. Whenever he poops he says "Potty!" and runs to the bathroom door but by the time I check him its to late. I wonder if I did potty train him if he'd learn. I just don't know if I'm ready to toilet train him yet! Wierd I know!
He's also on a fork kick. He won't eat anything unless he can eat it with a fork.
Krew has been a little achiever lately. :) He has started doing so many things lately that I'm so proud of! I think that alot of it has to do with the fact that he is in pre-school. It has helped him come out of his shell so much and learn how to make/have friends. He is now writing his first and last name. He also went to the dentist for the first time! He had a cavity and didn't want the shot so he got it filled with no anesthesia! He's one toughie!
He also got to go to a birthday party of a cute little girl in his class. This is Krew and Julianna at her birthday party. They are good friends.
While I was preparing to go out black- friday shopping I handed Krew the toy add from Target and told him to circle a few toys that he wanted for Christmas. When he handed it back to me I noticed that oh, EVERYTHING is circled. That makes my job easy. I'll just grab my money tree on the way out the door . . .
We had our neighbor Ragan over for a sleepover. (Krew worships her) We made donuts and then decorated the Christmas tree and watched Christmas movies. We love Ragan!
This is just another fun trick I taught Krew:
I realize this is a little cheerleaderish but he can still do it while he's little right? Or at least until I can't hold him up anymore! I was impressed by his balance!

Fall & Halloween 2012

Fall in Western NY. is unlike anywhere else in the country! I love the fall here! There is so many beautiful trees with turning colors. One afternoon me and the boys went outside and raked because there were so many leaves in our yard that we couldn't even see the grass! Krew thought it was such a good idea to rake the leaves into a pile to jump in! He was entertained for a while!
Halloween came and went so fast this year! Krew's fav. movie at the time was How to train your dragon. So I made him a costume like a viking and Brody was the dragon "toothless" from the movie. Krew really thought it was fun.
When it came time to go trick or treating it was raining. But that didn't stop my sugar hungry viking! We went up and down our street and that was about all Brody could handle so I ended up taking "toothless" home while Doug and Krew went up and down a few more streets. When they finally got home Krew was SOOOOOO proud of his pail full of candy. I let him stay up late and hand out candy to the trick or treaters that came to our door. He thought he had died and gone to heaven.
